(Yes, I am. ^.^;; ) Yes, I saw that too - so many different variations; but I have to say, like the dance best without the switching of partners. I think it allows for a much more passionate dance ( but 'tis personal opinion). :)
Deffinately, I'd love to see something like that done by Klingons! :D

Amanda, your video link is mighty intriguing. SCA dancing! (Do you belong to the SCA?) And I was curious about the "attitude" the women display in this version of the dance--as if they are annoyed with the guys. And that it is danced here not as a mixer. So I went to YouTube and had fun looking at a whole bunch of versions of Korobushka.
On this idea of klingon dance forms, I'm thinking that any of the dances that reflect martial arts moves might be cool. I remember seeing an Indonesian dance of this kind, performed solo by a man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2K21-rZtbc Here's a video of the dance being taught. Though, it's being *TAUGHT* here, so it's not nearly as nice as it SHOULD be (and the flute is off >.<). But it's a fantastic dance, and I can see it working so well with a Klingon spin. If you're doing it with people who know the steps, you can START OFF fast, and steadily increase the speed! :D Instead of starting off slow, and leading to fast.

'Tribble Stop' ? o.O Sounds like fun! :D

Korobushka--that's cool, Amanda! Especially because it usually speeds up LOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b1Ci7uAEkc is a nice YouTube version of the music.

The Klingons of Seattle led by Inzar (Betty Bigelow) do a glorious "Tribble Stomp" to a Lebanese debki. It has a terrific martial feel , a line dance with a lot of drive.
This dance thing intrigues me because in its different forms it expresses so many moods--aggression, sexiness, simple beauty, joy...:-)

Ugg, I hate trying to dance from one perspective, and teach from another.
Especially when you're a woman, trying to teach your male partner the steps.
Hah, though a dance that would be PERFECT for Klingon attire would be the Korobushka; also known as the 'angry wedding dance'. Lots and lots of angry passion, but rather simple steps! >=D

You get on your best dress, Ke'ereth, and I'll trim my beard:-)
Lushy can cut in on us LOL! Let her sort if out!
And Amanda, you can just pick your comfiest civilian Klingon attire. Theoretically, this will not be dance warfare, so it need not be made of steel. Stiletto heels are fine, though, if you prefer to have a weapon stealthy but handy (or footy).
Something tells me Martek isn't playing this....:-) But he is keeping an eye on things!

Part of what is cool about tango--historically men dance it with men a lot, and women with women. The older teach the younger, you just have to have a clear understanding about who is leading and who is following. (I know. This sounds kinda hinky.) Then when they are ready or choose, they can dance with, well, whatever species, whatever sex they like.

I only wear the Dress for special occasions. I wonder if Lushy still has that Holo-photo?
