Recently there was an article on the web on
www.gizmodo.com titled " Man spoke only Klingon to his son for 3 years". His name is D'Armond Speers and apparently as an experiment, he decided to speak only in Klingon to his son during that crucial developmental stage. He stated that " I was interested in the question of whether my son, going through his first language aquisition process, would aquire it like any human language. He was definitly starting to learn it."
Of course then there was the traditional comments of " Let's get a rope and string this guy up." Now whether I agree with Mr Speers or not (I do not), my problem is this..... along with the article is a pic of myself as Bra'Ka' who I portrayed for a couple years before bringing K'Tor back... I realze the whole issue of internet and public domain but it just pisses me off that now my image is linked to it. There is probably nothing that I can do but I am really upset about it.
I just want everyone in the Klingon community to know that I am NOT D'Armond Speers, I do not have a son, I have a grown daughter and 3 grandsons. Fandom is one thing, but I would never teach my child a fictional laguage during the most important phase of their life. This is however my Personal belief...
