See memorabilia from Riverside, William Shatner's "Invasion Iowa" special, and James T Kirk exhibits too!
**This March 20th, at 7pm--If you are in the Eastern IA region, stop in for some celebration, cake, "Romulan ale", and comraderie, at RACC's Kirk's Birthday Party Celebration! Less than 220 years separate you from the small baby born (in the TREK Prime universe), in a farmhouse in Riverside, IA, in 2228/2233 (depends on who you ask) ! **FINALLY--Announcing, as of this writing, the GUINESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS ATTEMPT!! February 2010 saw London set a new World's record, "Most People Gathered In Star Trek Costume."...They had 99 people! Riverside IA's Riverside Area Community Club has decided to see if they can break this record!
WE TREKKIES AND TREKKERS CAN DO THIS!!! The RACC and three regional Star Trek clubs had 37 costumed people in Cedar Rapids in January...This was for a "Star Trek Night" promotion with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders hockey team--and we weren't trying for any records!... So, JOIN US in making History! Come in alien, Star Trek Federation, Klingon, Romulan--any Trek-oriented costume! And yes, even Star Wars cosplayers are welcome--So, fans, lets set the SCIFI COSTUMING GROUP WORLD RECORD!!
