This is from the book called Pawns and Symbols by Majliss Larson. A must read if you be Klingon. Takes you right into the heart and soul of us Klingon peeps. enjoy Milord.

Toq, I am honored at your reply. I have the Zaloga coming from Amazon now. Some of my most valued learning experiences involve being re-oriented on old, unexamined assumptions.

This is a Klingon place, and I agree-that is the focus. So I will take this project off here now to pursue on my own.

Have to admit, though, part of what I have found so enjoyable over the years in this fandom is learning about other dimensions of my fellow Trek-enthusuasts' lives and hobbies. Some examples that have charmed me over and over--the overlap between Trek fandom and belly dancing. And Trek fandom and ..librarianship! I prize the friendship of KlinKat (Cat Ramos) who has a special interest in the Soviet women who served in that nation's air force . She opened my awareness to that saga. And of Sue Weaver, founder of the Imperial Mounted Guard, whose love of horses led me to an appreciation of the service of those animals in modern police forces. I guess for me the bottom line is--I respect the dedicated "buff," and these are often to be met among those of us who will put on a costume and a persona and hit the streets:-)

Toq, thanks for the corrective caution to get an accurate account of what happened during autumn '39! Any recommendations?

Toq, thank you for the honor of your reply about the 12. Pulk Ulanow Podolskich 1939!
I am fascinated by the history of world War II--these unspeakably momentous events that took place before most of us were born. I've just read an engrossing account of the Battle of Stalingrad. But few confrontations match the gallantry of the Polish forces who opposed the third Reich's aggression! Hard to believe that horse-mounted cavalry faced the mechanized might of Hitler's Germany.
I have a lively sense of gratitude for existing at all myself, because my father was a survivor (bomber-navigator) of the August '43 raid on the Ploesti oil fields. He died just this last October, 89 years of age. As we his children sort his belongings, we rediscover the souvenirs of that period in his life that intrigued us when we were little and had no grasp of what he had been though:-)
