Warriors of the Klingon Empire come to drink and sing songs of past glory

The following news has been posted by Khan epetaI-Klag on The Empire website.

Warriors and Citizens of The Empire.

Today is a glorious day, a day that I welcome with open arms to embrace! Today is the day that The Empire celebrates its day of birth.
Way back before this website was created and the internet was publicly
en vogue, and idea was hatched. That idea was this, how would the
Klingon Empire really run?
We
have seen in Earth history that an empire is not just made up of
military officers. An empire is made up of not just warriors, but also
civilians, tradesmen, children, and even aliens. Not all of these
citizens live on one planet; they are spread all over the quadrant. The
Empire is the only club that successfully portrays the Klingon Empire
like a real empire would have been.

I remember the day I was contacted by one of our founding members (and soon to be house brother) about the idea of The Empire. I took the
vote up with my crew and we became one of the first founding chapters
of The Empire. Ever since then, we have seen the club grow by leaps and
bounds. When this website representation fully went online about five
years ago, it was a very exciting time. For the first time, we got to
interact in the guilds instantly instead of waiting for email threads
or snail mail. We got to see avatars that represent the user who was
talking. We even got a better gallery and chat function, and you know
what? We still have all of that for you all to enjoy and soon they will
be getting better!

I’m pleased to see all aspects of our club being active. This not just includes the military and civilians, but our archiving department,
our SIMulator, and even our guilds. This past year we saw the
activation of a few more guilds. I encourage all of you to stop by and
consider joining any that peak your interest. I’m sure all of our guild
masters will be happy to answer any questions you may have that may
concern joining or participation within their guild.

The Empire has been a beacon in fandom for Klingons to gather. This past year we saw a few old familiar faces join up. I remember
them, twenty years ago, when I was first learning what it was to be a
Klingon and it pleases me to see them still active in fandom and feel
honored to have them participating with our club. I have also noticed
that with the launch of Star Trek Online and the new, revisioned Star
Trek movie that our membership has grown. I would like to take the time
to welcome and acknowledge those members and invite them to look around
deeper in our club to see how the first generations of Klingon fans
celebrate their favorite enemies of the Federation.

Today I raise my mug to all of you members of The Empire. To our full members, our dual members, our civilians and Xeno Legionnaires, we
are grateful for your participation in our club and look forward to
many more years of fun and merriment. Kai to you and KAI The Empire!
