Warriors of the Klingon Empire come to drink and sing songs of past glory

Please don't rush forwards with the obvious answer.

For me, a Klingon is a Warrior, but that's not all. Many are born into great Houses, but surprisingly few become renown Warriors, or De'Har Masters.

My mother joSa’reH (Josa'reh) Is a Planetary Geologist, a Scientist.

My Brother qaven (Kaven) is the head of my Clan's shipyards Hull construction. design and repair facility in the Chin'toka System

My Uncle qorSh (Korsh) Spent many years as a Defence Lawyer, before taking command of a Ship again during the Dominion War.

But each considers themselves a Warrior of the Empire. My mother fights to find worlds worthy of joining the Empire, to find out which are worthy of colonising, to support our people.

Without my Brother and those like him, our ships wouldn't fly and our Disruptors wouldn't fire. (We'd stay at home, and fight each other, and that's not good,)

And with out my Uncle's legal wisdom, many times a good man would have been wrongly put to death or imprisoned, for things they hadn't done.

Like any other race, we are judged on the members of our society that you meet most often, and with Klingons, that's often our military.

But spare a thought for the Farmer who battles against nature and the seasons to bring in the Harvest,

The Doctor who battles to save lives, and fight disease.

And the Teacher who fights ignorance, with Knowledge.

Then tell me, what for you makes a Klingon?

Some still see us as Brutal and Warlike, with short tempers and argumentative personalities, always ready to fight and kill. But that's not the FULL story. . .

I sometimes wonder how an outsider must see us.

hmmmm... as an outsider..to me klingons are a very diverse culture...full of traditions..their aggressive nature belies their soft side...and yes..they DO have a concience....they remind me of medieval Knights..full of honor..tradition..family..there are very few Klingons I've met that don't like me..but...klingons don't like change...they loathe to give in..and will often argue where there is no arguement...

I do feel Klingons need to change in order to grow...to broaden their horizons..there is a hard-core old traditionlist klingons who would see no more non-klingons among them...to them I say this:

Honored Sirs, I beg to differ...there is much to be learned from an allie...accept the hand of friendship as an honored gift...for it goes both ways...As a Caitian..and an Ambassador to Cait...I will fight by your side..eat at your tables....take a BondMate )no!The offspring they won't be cats with ridges! I have been shunned by some..ignored by some..but most Klingons see inside my soul...I am..your Allie

Klingons are my adopted klin..like it or not...
For me, the Klingon is one who lives large. The Klingon is hungry. Scary and funny. A scramble of energy and ambition channeled by devotion to Empire and comrades. Other.
I like that, A Klingon, should certainly have all those qualities. Qapla'
Ke'reth, always you bring us brain-teasing thoughts, laughter and encouragement. Your ability to do that IS Klingon! I find myself thinking, "I would serve with this one." Helmsman....:-) How wise to bring the question of how the Outsider might perceive us!

And Lushy, our non-Klingon, so brave to move among us, always asserting her determination to be with us, absorbing the uncertainties of reception by this or that Klingon. You have adopted us. Shame on us if we fail to keep you near!
That's great, I'd add a couple of Ingredients from Terran History, to make a Warrior, The Bushido or Samurai code of ethics. (Known as the way of the Warrior.) And the females being in Battle as equal warriors to the men, like Boadicea's people the Iceni
