Klingon tricorder

I'm going to make a Klingon tricorder of my own design, I already have several of the electronic componants including a soundboard on to which I'll record a mp3 audio file and an eight red LED scanning light (Like the Knightrider scanner.) I am waiting for a small keyfob LED flashlight to arrive, then this will light a circular display screen, with a display that I intend to print on to clear plastic.

I'll post as soon as it's made

The following will be Klingon related Props that are being auctioned on eBay. Also note I have nothing to do with these auctions, I am just sharing them with you.

I thought I try something different and unique since I can not get my chair done by Starbase Indy, I found some long neck gords, and I cleaned them up, stuff them to make them more soild, and painted with Klingon glyths and wrapped the necks, and man do they look wild, I will have one on my weapon's display, and 3 will be used to beat the gloom at his weddding at Starbase Indy. If you are not going to be there this year, watch my live ustream broadcast and I have one in my hand and you can tell me what you think of it. I also as well have "LARGE" Klingon reference library of plans for making varies Klingon weapons and uniforms, including pain sticks, maces, the hunting spear. I will be as soon as my new printer can get them scaned into my computer, I will be passing them out to anyone who would like the information.

Seeing that fine weapon reminded me of two that I have seen. The first was a small hand disruptor, made out of three parts. The first was a toy Luger, two ball point pens to form the upper tubes, and for an end cap, the nose from a Kenner Toys X-Wing fighter from the 1970's.

The second really didn't look all that Klingon, except in coloring. It started off as a pair of squirt guns that wer on clearance at a local toy store. A couple of dowels and a paint job and it sort of looked like the bastard son of a disruptor and well a squirt gun from a store (kind of like an UZI but longer and on a bipod). But the real fun came with the number of people who walked up to the fan table and asked in seeming awe "is that the real gun from the movie"?

To this day none of us that were there have any idea what movie or for that matter what gun they were talking about. I didn't make either of these and I don't have pictures, but it goes to show that a little creativity can make for an interesting weapons selection.

Too kind, It's one of a kind I'm afraid, it took an age to make and is far too heavy to post, (It feels like a real assault rifle in weight.) it would cost a fortune. Though if anyone is interested I can give them construction tips.

Tip one:- Find a toygun/weapon to base it on. Then using Milliput, make the handle a more Klingon shape. This will start the transformation.

Tip two:- Pamels can be made from plastic bottles, or cardboard coated with a thin layer of Putty. Then sand smooth and paint. This makes them hardwearing and rigid.

I then used putty to attach them.

Tip three:- Laser sights, and scopes are available of ebay, as is the Milliput. (A two part resin.)

Tip four:- Never throw away any small bits of interesting junk, bits of Toys, kits Etc. . .

These are always great for detailing.

This is my Klingon Assault rifle, with lights, sounds and laser sight, made from toy parts and air hardning putty. It has a working pump action underslung blaster, and and a maglight with a red lens. What do you think?
