Warriors of the Klingon Empire come to drink and sing songs of past glory

1) What first got you interested in being a Klingon and why?

Because like my favorite humans in history, they remind me of the Vikings. They fought, for the pure love of combat, not just to expand their territory, they fought to survive. And they fought to uphold their ideas of honor and bravery

2) Do you have any other hobbies? if so...what?

Needlework, the more complicated the better. I also love transforming photographs and images from Star Trek into needlepoint patterns. I am working on one now for my friend Captain Kehlan, the logo for Starbase 24

3) What is your favorite music and film..and why..

The film music is from the first movie in the long continuing series of movies. Star Trek the Motion picture. It re-introduced us to characters we grew up loving, and thirsted to see more of. Its music score was the basis for all future movies, all most of all, because it gave us the riveting Klingon Battle theme.

4) Do any of your family members follow star trek..if so...who...

My nephew does.

5) Is there are funny event in your life you'd care to share with us...

I was in Las Vegas a few years ago, letting off some steam. I had made a black outfit to wear, and on the bodice I had hand embroidered the Klingon Trefoil in red. I was in Caesars Palace just coming in from the shopping mall.

There was an impressive looking group of praetorian guards, and leading them, was Caesar. Before I could step aside for the procession, Caesar paused, and announced "Guards, stand aside. There is a Klingon warrior here."

Before I could blink or react they had parted the crowd in typical roman fashion and his honor guard saluted saying "Hail Warrior."

6) How was your person Khalessa born....what are her origins....

The truth of her birth in character will never be known, she is the direct linear descendent of the only woman who ever made chancellor of the empire, Azetbur.

Her house origins were kept from her all through childhood till adulthood when it was decided she could take the story in pace.

Three knew her origins, one having been the male who delivered her. Leonard McCoy. The second, was Worfs Father who was given the secret to give to her when she was deemed strong enough to take it. He was handpicked by McCoy.

The other was (By accident) the head of the house Duras who had learned of it, and that is why he was killed in the duel with Worf, not only for Kehlars assassination, but because he had found the secret out and had threatened to expose her. He had to be destroyed to keep Khalessa's existence and her birthright hidden.

In rl, she was born the day I had the misfortune to meet a certain actor portraying a certain starship Enterprise captain. It was such an intensely hateful meeting to me, that I became intensely Klingon in nature in less than 5 minutes.

Thus It is not the Kirk character I loathe, but the actor portraying him.

Lushy it was my honor to participate in this interview.

This is a rich and informative conversation, honored Lushy and Khalessa! Thank you both.
I am going to enjoy framing my own mental image of the Klingon warrior clad in her black and red , receiving the spontaneous salutation of Caesar and his Praetorians. I find this story grand because it captures the core of what a I love about our costuming in this shared universe of Trek. The whole thing is an engine for adventure and fun.

Kai Kassai, Khalessa!
I must agree I enjoyed hearing about Caesar and his Praetorians. That is a story I will never forget. :-)
Around when was this meeting with this actor, I am guessing around his asshat days? :)
Actually he is not as bad anymore. I know a few people that attend his horse charity events and they claim he is a nice guy now.
Another great interview!

Also good to hear that not every story of a meeting with a guest star s positive. Having been a part of a Convention security detail, I am firmly convinced that they all put their pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us, and some need help even doing that.

Also the Caesar story was great. That beat my similar encounter at a Medieval Times restaurant once.
